May 16, 2019

CHICAGO, May 16, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — LKQ Corporation (Nasdaq:LKQ) today announced it has hired Ian P. Musselman as Senior Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs. Mr. Musselman will open LKQ’s Washington, D.C. office and help establish a federal government affairs presence, as well as oversee existing government affairs activities, for the company.

LKQ Corporation, a global Fortune 300 company with nearly $12 billion in annual sales and approximately 51,000 employees, is a leading distributor of alternative and specialty parts to repair and accessorize automobiles and other vehicles. LKQ’s mission includes a focus on safety, reliability, and sustainability with respect to all aspects of its business.

“I am very pleased to have Ian join the senior leadership team of LKQ. His years of government affairs experience working on complex issues and his ability to navigate Congress, coupled with his strong relationships throughout Washington, will be invaluable to LKQ as we strengthen our voice at all levels of government. Additionally, Ian has tremendous experience in the automotive parts industry and advanced vehicle technologies, including automatic vehicle safety systems and alternative power technologies for light and heavy-duty vehicles. These skills will be an outstanding asset to our long-term growth strategy of adapting to the rapid change taking place in the automotive industry,” said LKQ Corporation’s President and Chief Executive Officer Dominick Zarcone.

Ian Musselman joined Continental Automotive Group and Continental Tire of the Americas in September 2012 as Director of Government Affairs for North America. In his role as Director, Mr. Musselman’s responsibilities included establishing Continental’s first government affairs office in Washington, D.C., setting its government relations agenda, and implementing its government relations strategy before the United States Congress and the Executive Branch. Mr. Musselman formed the state government affairs office of Continental in 2014, working with individual states on growth incentive packages, product development regulation, and employment matters.

“I look forward to using both my experience in establishing a government affairs presence in Washington, D.C. and my knowledge of the overall automotive industry’s legislative and regulatory dynamics to promote LKQ’s story at both the federal and state levels of Government,” said Ian Musselman.

Mr. Musselman has served on the boards of several youth related non-profit organizations including the Tewaaraton Foundation, a non-profit that annually honors the most outstanding NCAA men’s and women’s lacrosse player, and the Belfast Beltway Classic, which encourages sportsmanship and education on each side of the Atlantic.

Mr. Musselman earned a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Colby College in Maine.
